Strives to Help Muslim Youth
Name Hafsah Mohammed
School University of Chicago
Major Social Service Administration
“The rise of Islamophobia and the increase of hate crimes motived by anti-Muslim bias have put Muslims in a very tough and terrifying predicament. I want to establish this center to allow for a safe space for youth to be able to voice concerns, freely engage in discussions and be in the company of others who are going through similar struggles.
My vision for the community is that we together see the importance of actively investing into the youth. My commitment is to help Muslim youth acquire the correct tools to actively contribute and participate in the community surrounding them without allowing bias or discrimination to deter them from their success. Insha’Allah, I hope that within the next 5 to10 years, I have been able to begin the development of the center or already have it established.”
