An Innovative Engineer
Name Rohul Amin
School New York University
Major Computer Science and Engineering
“From a young age, I have wanted to be an innovator: someone that takes a vision and transforms it into a beneficial product. Reading children’s books about robots, I knew that one day I would live in a different world: a world where people would rely on gadgets and technological advancements. At the time, all of this only seemed possible in a child’s imagination.
Years later, I realized that engineers are the minds that can change the times. But, they need mentors to help them learn and grow. I applied to NYU for my undergraduate studies with the desire to learn and attain skills, to help design the future. Each class opened my eyes to an ocean of knowledge and a horizon of possibilities. Technology has the potential to divide us or unite us. It has the potential to hurt us or to help us.
I hope to continue to learn and gain the skills needed to be a resource and an active member of my community. After graduation I look forward to pursuing research and development at an organization dedicated to using technology to bring the world closer and aiding in unheard voices to be recognized. Our futures are what we seek of them. Regardless of where God’s plan takes me, I aspire to be the engineer that can change the times.”
